I have always had a great relationship with the staff at Monro and preferred to bring my vehicle there for inspections and maintenance. Manager was honest and told me what needed to be done and when but never pushed anything. I went there last month for oil change and inspection only to find entirely new staff. They originally failed my inspection because of lower control arms and quoted me $1200. I took it to another mechanic who said control arms eventually did need to be replaced but we?re not bad enough to fail inspection. I had him repair them anyway (for half the price) so I could bring it back and pass inspection. I returned to Monro to finish the inspection and instead of just clearing the control arms and passing inspection they decided to reinspect the whole car again (?) and conveniently found an issue with my wheel bearing that apparently was fine on the first inspection. They claimed that my mechanic must have damaged it during the control arm repair. I spoke with him and he said there?s no possible way that could have happened. Seems to me they were not happy I took it somewhere else in the first place and came up with some bogus reason to fail me again. This level of dishonestly and scamming is unacceptable. They have lost a loyal customer. It?s unfortunate they couldn?t keep their prior staff. Also they now have a call service with someone from India that you can barely understand when trying to make an appointment. I would stay far away from Monro.....
