I set up an appt. online to have four new tires put on my car. When I showed up for the appt., I was told they did not have the tires I had selected in stock (even though they showed up as available online). I went home, ordered the tires directly from the manufacturer, which then set up another appt. to have tires put on and to do a front-end alignment. After waiting more than 3-hrs, I pulled out of the service center and found the car pulled badly and was almost undriveable. I returned the next day and Monro proceeded to try and fix the alignment, but were unable to do so. The appt. concluded with the manager saying they didn't know why it couldn't be aligned properly and I should take my car to the dealership (which I did, and the dealership aligned it perfectly without any problems). The manager at Monro agreed to issue a refund for the alignment they were unable perform. It's been a week and numerous calls, but the refund has not been issued. It was a frustrating experience for what should have been a routine service. Update: I am downgrading from 2 to 1 stars. After agreeing to refund the cost of an alignment they couldn't perform, there has been no refund for weeks. The assistant manager of the shop tells me to call the 1-800 number (acting as if he can't do anything). The 1-800 sends me to voicemail and no one returns calls. This shop is the epitome in mismanagement and poor customer service. I recommend avoiding this place and taking your business elsewhere. There are plenty of good shops in State College and the surrounding area to get tires or your car serviced. Update 2: If I could give this place zero stars, I would downgrade even further. Monroe advertises free tire rotations for life when you purchase tires from them. Thinking they couldn't possibly screw up a tire rotation, I set up an appt. after 6K on my new tires - an appt. Monroe then confirmed with reminder text messages. When I showed up for the appt., the manager said he didn't have enough technicians to do the tire rotation. So what's the point of making an appt.? This business is poorly run.....
