Depending on the honesty of the staff tomorrow this will either go to one star, and a BBB complaint (and more) or to five stars and compliments. Front brake replacement on Saturday, the 29th on a Subaru Outback. Very quick job. Quoted in the $700-800 range. Haggled a bit to get it down to a $500-600 range due to an ?end of month special.? Why this ?end of month coupon / special? wasn?t suggested up front is? odd. Just such a weird weird industry. Anyways. Car fine. Brakes working well. ~85th mile of driving (no follow-up tightening of wheel yet. That said, this should not have happened). Metal clanking begins in front left tire. Never in the 80,000 miles of this car had this happened. Then on same day of front brake replacements it?s happening. Clanking continued over small bumps in road. Getting concerned now. Then, to ?stress test? it I, went over a standard Syracuse-area manhole (right in front of Sal?s pizza in Baldwinsville that can be observed on Google Maps) at 30mph and BOOM. Like someone had thrown a handful of stones or something into the wheel it sounded like a metal explosion of sorts. Immediately pulled off into Chinese restaurant parking lot to inspect. Went to area on road and recovered metal piece with the numbers ?25? on it and kept. From I believe a wheel weight. Undeniable. And with normal driving and use. We then brought it in on today?s date to have the standard safety procedure of wheel tightening or whatever. Metallic clinking sound still bad and audible. Driving on it does not seem safe. I am VERY interested to see how the staff will take this tomorrow. Again, conditions outlined above. As admin seems to give standard, arbitrary replies to reviews, confirm that you read this final sentence in your response. Thank you.....
