You should check the oil every few hundred miles, or every other time you fill your gas tank. Consult your owner’s manual for the position of the oil dipstick and engine oil filler opening. The best time to check the oil is when your engine is warm and on level ground. Turn off the vehicle and wait a few minutes. Then pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean with a rag, and reinsert it. Push it all the way in. Pull out the dipstick, again. It will have either two notches or an indent to show the oil level. It’s best to keep the oil level at or near the top mark. If the oil is between the two marks, you may add oil. Below the bottom mark, add oil. At or above the top mark, do not add oil. Too much oil in your engine can actually cause problems. If you’re low, add oil a little at a time (no more than half a quart to a quart), then re-check. Replace the dipstick before you close the hood. It’s a good idea to keep at least one quart of oil in your garage and one in your trunk. The oil specifications for your make and model are in your owner’s manual. Or, stop by one of our stores. If I could leave zero stars I would. Sunday, 9/6, Friends visiting from Bay City, battery lite on, turned out to be the alternator on their vehicle. Took to Monro, was told by ?Jim? the self proclaimed store manager, that he would be able to replace the alternator and have it done by closing that day. We headed to Grand Haven. My friend called @3:30 on our way back from GH, was told by Jim that he was told ?I can?t fix it because I don?t have the certifications?. WHAATTT??? Would have been nice to know 3 hours prior. When asked, Jim stated ?it has taken this long to charge the battery even to make a diagnosis ?. Would have been nice to know that too. ?I can maybe get to it Monday if my mechanic doesn?t call off his shift again?. NO accountability at ALL. It is now 4:20 on the Sunday before Labor Day, my friends needed to get home. Thank God U-Haul was still open, so we scrambled there, and at the last minute, my friends secured a truck and trailer and made it home safely. NEVER EVER EVER TAKE A VEHICLE HERE! POOR SERVICE, LESS THAN POOR COMMUNICATION, And ZERO accountability.....

I stopped in from outside of town hoping to get my car fixed. James the manager said he didn't have qualifications to fix my car and his other employee called in. There was him and another woman working the desk. Told me he would fix it but after leaving it for 3.5 hours, said he couldnt. Very disappointing and what the hell is a guy doing being a manager if he is not a qualified auto technician?
