I went here for a basic car tune-up: air filter, cabin air filter, spark plugs; I guess they checked the fluid levels, and a tire rotation. It cost me $326. They rotated my tires, and as soon as I drove away from their shop, my rear drums brakes starting making noise when I was stepping on the brake, and it felt like I wasn't able to stop the vehicle smoothly or properly. I know it was from their rotating the tires because it didn't do that before. They told me that nothing is wrong with the car, but I know there is. They told me that the braking problem isn't from the tire rotation. They refused to fix the problem, or maybe weren't able to. Over-torqued lug nuts? That can cause braking problems. I have to now take it to Toyota to have them fix the problem. They charged me over $165 to install four new spark plugs, which is ridiculous. Every time I've gone there, I've had to go back many times to have them fix problems they had created when installing parts. They installed a serpentine belt, and it squealed so loudly that I thought I'd get pulled over by the cops. I had to go back a few times to have them fix that. Then I had a muffler installed, and it rattled, and I had to go back a few more times to get that fixed. Some of those mechanics aren't very experienced. They'll rip you off and not even fix your problems without a lot of trips back. I went back to Monro today, 3/24/25, since I was late getting to the Toyota Dealer, and they wouldn't check my car. Robert, the manager, took another look at my car to try to determine the noise problem in the back right. I believe he bolted the heat shield on a little better, and I watched him take the back brake apart and lubricate the drum and put it back on. I also watched him with his torque wrench, torque the bolts. I told him that I know that my car requires 76 ft-lb. He did lessen the noise and it does sound better. They did make a real effort to determine the cause of the noise in the back right, so I appreciated that. My car is a 2007 Toyota Yaris, and I guess older cars are going to make noise. I wonder if the noise could be caused by putting the car up on the lift and stretching the suspension?....Read More
