BEWARE. Do not make the same mistake? I have noticed from previous reviews at around the same time frame (beginning of 2024) others have paid for services or new parts that they never received. I purchased Goodyear Assurance All-Season tires directly through Goodyear in February 2024. The tires were shipped to and installed at Monro in Saranac Lake, which was the shop I selected through the Goodyear website at checkout. I paid approximately $700 for what I understood to be four brand-new Goodyear tires and MONRO?S installation. For a while now, I?ve noticed that my two front tires have become almost bald and are cracking along the edges, which is obviously a serious safety concern. Meanwhile, my two rear tires still look practically brand new. I had my front end inspected separately, and I was told that everything is intact and straight, so there doesn?t appear to be an issue with the vehicle causing the uneven wear. I contacted Goodyear?s warranty department and had the tires inspected at another Goodyear-linked location, a Toyota dealership. That?s when I was shocked to find out that the two front tires currently on my vehicle have DOT dates from 2005 and 2006!!!!!! Yes ? 2005 and 2006. The service advisor explained that they could not process a Goodyear warranty claim because these were NOT the tires Goodyear had shipped to Monro. Goodyear also confirmed that they do not sell or ship tires that are past their warranty window. This means that when I paid for four brand-new tires in February 2024, I apparently ended up with two brand new tires and two 20 year old tires. I went to the shop by myself and, unfortunately, I had no idea at the time that I needed to check the DOT dates on the tires. The front tires did not look obviously terrible when they were installed, so I had no reason to believe I was being given extremely old tires. My vehicle is a 2017 Honda, and the tires I replaced were the original tires from Honda. I contacted both Goodyear and Monro. Goodyear told me that they cannot warranty the tires because the tires currently on my vehicle are not the tires they shipped to the shop. Monro?s manager told me there was nothing they could do. I am unbelievably upset and disappointed. How did Monro place such old tires on my car? Do they not check the parts before installing on a paying customers vehicle and sending them on their way? I?ve driven to Canada and driven across the state multiple times since. I?m grateful that nothing bad or a blowout happened yet while driving on these old tires, especially while driving alone. Kenny and Monro Muffler saved our butts! Our starter went bad while we were in vacation in Saranac Lake and were stranded. He fixed our problem promptly and even stayed after his shift ended to help us. Awesome service!!
