This Monro location installed the wrong catalytic converter on our vehicle ? a federal unit on a California-emissions certified vehicle. That is not just sloppy work; installing a converter that is not certified for the vehicle can constitute tampering with an emissions control system under the Clean Air Act. Shops are required to install emissions components that match the vehicle?s certification. Installing a non-compliant catalytic converter can leave the vehicle out of compliance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency emissions regulations and can cause it to fail inspection. Customers should be extremely cautious about emissions repairs here. This issue has been reported to the EPA and Massachusetts Attorney General. Estimates to repair damages are in excess of $7,000. Before you ( Monro corporate) post a generic response asking me to call you, ive already spent hours on multiple phone calls trying to get this fixed. You put us in an unsafe vehicle with exhaust and carbon monoxide pouring into the cabin of the vehicle causing nausea and headachs. You've refused to make it right after it was found out you installed illegal/unlawful parts. To potential customers: If you broke down in their parking lot, id suggest getting towed to any other shop in the area.....
