All employees were clear and honest. This is why I always return year after year for my inspection. Through the years, I have visited Monroe for other services as well. And i've always been extremely satisfied and with the employees that aren't there anymore as well.

Scheduled a 9:30 am driveline maintenance service, because I was overdue on differential fluid swap. This is typically, an inspection of things like your U-Joints, Differentials, and Drive Shaft. Swapping Differential and Transfer Case fluid, and grease where applicable on your drive shaft. Takes about 45 min to an hour if you have all the stuff to do it yourself. You can get it done at a Grease Monkey or Jiffy Lube for a couple hundred bucks. It?s not a big deal, all areas on the vehicle to be serviced are easily accessible. The only thing you have to take off is a skid plate to get to the Front Diff and the Transfer Case. The guy at the front counter looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language when he asked what I was in for when I said ?driveline? and said when he saw my online appointment he didn?t know what I meant by driveline maintenance. That?s basically an exact quote. Then he told me since they aren?t a dealership they don?t use that terminology nor do they offer a package to have it done. If you are unfamiliar with cars Google it, because that?s such a BS thing to say, and it REALLY didn?t instill me with any confidence that this guy knew what he was doing AT ALL. I typically do this work myself, but it?s been cold as hell and I didn?t feel like rolling around on the frozen ground for an hour, so I was willing to pay more than double to have it done to save me the trouble. I proceed to sit for half an hour waiting on them to get the truck on the rack.. (I made an appointment because i have to be at work mind you) but OK, I?m here already, might as well wait. When they get the truck up on the rack the guy comes back in and starts asking me about my spark plugs which were replaced about 10k miles ago? and absolutely not what I am here for. Then he starts trying to explain all the parts of the driveline ( I?m assuming after the mechanic explained it to him) and how they have to do a complete inspection of my vehicle to do this very simple service of a very specific area of my truck? When I tell the guy that I just had the 100,000 mile maintenance done and my spark plugs are practically new, and I also express concern that this is not the service I asked for, he cops a huge attitude and immediately tells me I am free to take my business elsewhere. Ok fine, don?t threaten me with a good time. So I had them take the truck off the rack and left. Went on to work. Swung by NAPA on my way home, got Gear and TC oil and did the damn job myself. I must say in all fairness, I had a very good experience here with a guy I?m assuming was the manager last year, when they did a state inspection, and I spoke to one of the mechanics on both occasions and he?s a good dude, but the young guy behind the counter on this visit has no business in customer service, and I think he probably lied on his resume if he didn?t known what the driveline on a vehicle is. Included is a screen grab from Google explaining what Driveline Maintenance is so that the joker at Monro can see that it?s not dealership specific and is actually a generally accepted term in most mechanic shops.
